From the COFB
Every year, nearly 2 million pounds of food of perfectly good food goes to waste in our region. We’re changing that.
The Central Okanagan Food Bank is launching a Food Transformation Centre designed to collect and store surplus local produce, transform it into fresh and shelf-stable food, and deliver hundreds of thousands of pounds of nourishment to local families and individuals facing food insecurity.
We’re excited to collaborate with the Gopal Family Foundation with title sponsors Acera Insurance to host an evening in support of our Food Transformation Centre, working together towards a substantial, long-term regional solution to food waste and creating opportunity to meet the growing demand of food insecurity.
The Bollywood Gala offers the perfect blend of colour, culture, and community. By bringing together philanthropic leaders, corporate partners, and passionate individuals, we can create an unforgettable evening that not only celebrates diversity but also mobilizes support for COFB initiatives.
Together, we can shine a spotlight on food waste and local agriculture, raise critical funds, and ensure that everyone has access to the food they deserve.
Let’s make this night one to remember!
